Casa Bowie

Mexico City - Mexico

The main challenge of this residence was to create a turnkey project in a short period of time, preserving the existing structure and details of the house, adding furniture that could be perfectly integrated into each space, as well as incorporating a contemporary style, with a modern touch mainly for its art. Our participation consisted in developing the interior design project. The residence has 752 m² made up of a hall, living room, dining room, bar, kitchen, study, family room, 4 bedrooms and a terrace.

The inspiration behind this 2 week project project, was to unite two currents, the contemporary style of furniture and at the same time we were inspired in the 70’s, with the art of the marquetry of the ceilings and walls of the room, wood with classic designs creating an eclectic and fun atmosphere, highlighting the art inspired by the 70’s rock as the main accent, giving an emphasis to everything alive, the connection between human beings and nature integrating the colors of our exterior to the interior, such as the green chairs in the dining room, creating a clean space, contrasting with the wooden floors and the Grigio Carnico marble dining table.

In terms of decoration, the selection of design objects was primary such as the decorative lamp by Tom Dixon in the living room, the circular floor lamps by Cuentadi that illuminate and accessorize the main terrace.

Fernando Diaz’s Blue Leviathan sculpture on a pedestal by Timothy Oulton in the living room and a selection of iconic modern art headed by David Bowie in the living room and Kate Moss in the dining room.

In the main bedroom we can find an incredible bed by Benetti Casa de Misura Emme, the Day Bench bench and the Deep Thoughts Leather chaise by Blu Dot, harmonizing and adding freshness to the space, giving masculine touches to the room. The result was very successful since we achieved a conceptual project to suit our client, and merging immediate styles.
